Computer Issues

My next post may be slow in coming as I reinstall everything on my computer. This past Thursday while I was on the Internet I was infected with a virus. The only practical solution in my case was to reformat my hard drive and completely start over. It is a learning experience as I reinstalled Windows, various drivers, and programs and as I continue in that process. I plan to take breaks to visit other peoples' blogs from time to time. But it may be a couple weeks before I get into full swing again.

  5. Thanks everybody for your empathy and encouragement. It's also good to know that I'm not alone in this experience though I wish it on no one.

  6. I might also add that I had googled for information on "yellowjacket sting" and got stung. I believe the virus came from a web site listed on that google search result. A friend of my wife had gotten a yellowjacket bee sting and we both googled that and we both got stung on our computers by a virus.

  7. Reformatting a hard drive is not fun. Been there but also having a hard drive go bad is worse. Now on Windows 7 is nicer. Maybe the sting is coincidence with the virus that hit you or maybe not. Hope it all goes well in back to normal.
