A Bit of Nature at Home

Life has been pretty busy this past week so I thought I would display a bit of nature from my backyard. There's something beautiful to be seen just about everywhere.

  1. Beautiful! I recognize Morning Glory and Rudbekia. Is the red flower Hibiscus? Whatever it is, your backyard seems to enjoy life!

  2. Love that pale morning glory. You have pretty flowers in your yard.
Just an FYI...My Granddaughters have a pretty super Orthodontist. Every year he rents the ice skating rink and has a family night for his patients and their families. Skates and ice time are free, compliments of the DR. There were about 300 whizzing around the rink for 2 1/2 hours. The girls had a wonderful time and were totally pooped when it was over.
Nothing like that ever happened to me when I was young.

  3. Tim, these flowers are beautiful in your yard. I even couldn't choose my favorite flower; they are all very touching and gentle.

I always enjoy your pictures of flowers.

Great pictures. I like them very much.

    Greetings from Kaya.

  4. black-eyed Susans are my favorites. We have three patches that struggle to suvive in the limited light of our valley. Yours looks much healthier.

  7. If that first one is a hollyhock, we see them everywhere we go right now, Tim, growing in the wild here in the Netherlands. I know you love your flowers!

  8. What a find these auction pictures – thanks for showing them. Now as I think back at many events in my life I wonder why I did not take pictures then… I like the pretty flowers from your backyard. My fig tree is full of fruits – I’ll show it in my next post.

  9. Thanks, geo. The red flower is commonly known as rose of sharon but its botanical name is Hibiscus syriacus.

Thanks, photowannabe. Glad you enjoyed my flowers. And your granddaughters' dentist is amazing!

Thanks, kaya. Flowers have a way of touching the soul.

Thanks, ted roth. These wouldn't be doing so well if I had not watered them during a hot, dry spell we had earlier.

Thanks, dawn. Beauty can usually be seen somewhere all around us if our eyes are open to see.

Thanks, cergie. Beauty resides both low and high.

Thanks, ginnie. The first one is a Rose of Sharon; its botanical name being Hibiscus syriacus. But hollyhocks are among my favorite plants, too.

Thanks, vagabonde. Sometimes we don't think to take pictures till it's too late; but even then we still can have memories. And figs - I love fig bars!
