A Snowy Journey

This past Saturday I went hiking on portions of PA State Game Lands #196 in West Rockhill Township, Bucks County a short distance off of Ridge Valley Road. Two days before the hike we had a foot or more of snow. We had only been expecting four to six inches originally. It was a peaceful morning with the exception of one gun shot but it was small game season for squirrels and rabbits. So below is just a glimpse of my Saturday morning.

Picnic in the Snow

Snow blanketing the earth
Covering a barren land
Preparing a feast
For both soul and mind

A gurgling creek

Birds basking in the sun

A journey through the woods

A church pointing to God

Dawn Arises

Dawn arises
A clean slate
A path prepared
A road to choose

A blur of unknowns
A certainty of uncertainty
Influxes of hard cold realities
A winter unwanted

But in the stillness
A whisper of a new morning
A morning still coming
When hope reigns
And all is well

Snow Scenes

This past Friday and Saturday, we had a small amount of snow - just enough to be beautiful. Below are a few photographs from around home.

A Glimpse of Peddlers Village

Peddlers Village in Lahaska, Bucks County, PA is a fun place to experience a wide variety of restaurants and shops. You can find both the unique and common there - the practical and the unpractical. It is a place to let one's imagination and sensations roam.

We began our day with lunch at the Cock and Bull. I had the Lahaska Salad -
a tasty chicken, lettuce, mandarin oranges, cranberry, and spiced pecans dish.

Following lunch we went to see the gingerbread houses
which I highlighted in the previous post.

From there, we visited a Christmas store.

A Germany store with delightful cuckoo clocks

A scene that reminds me of a menorah

A store with rooster plates (I like rooster designs)

Some pottery

Boats with sails

Fascinating Plaques
