The Giving Pond

About two weeks ago on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, I went for a couple hikes at The Giving Pond not far from the Uhlerstown, Pennsylvania/Frenchtown, New Jersey bridge that crosses the Delaware River. It was a beautiful warm sunny day with bright blue skies much of the time. The Giving Pond was at one time a stone quarry but was converted into a park. Below are some photos from those two hikes.

Notice the bluffs in the upper right background

Some beautiful birds

Willow trees starting to leaf out

I love the reflection of the Canadian Goose in the pond

A great place to watch the skies, too

There are at least four logs with rows of turtles in this picture, maybe more.

A beautiful robin

  1. Tim, I like this time of year and you took wonderful pictures of early spring. You even captured a little robin. I try someday to take pictures of this bird.

Beautiful and very interesting pictures. Love them a lot.

  3. Enchanting, and to think this refuge came from a quarry! This is a tolerant planet we live on. Thanks, Tim.

  5. Don't you just love how everything is coming to life, Tim! And these images are from 2 weeks ago. Our weather just turned cold again, and maybe yours did, too. But we know that everything will soon be alive. Easter is coming!
